About
I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and spent most of my childhood outside—exploring the mountains, hiking, biking, and swimming in alpine lakes. I come from a very artistic family, filled with painters, sculptors, and photographers, so I was always encouraged to pursue art, but also sports—two very opposite worlds, I know.
In high school, I began photographing and quickly found a deep love for storytelling through images. Around that same time, I also started playing rugby, and I loved it, I played for 5 seasons, and that’s when I picked up my first weight.
When it came time for college, I moved to Chicago to attend a small school where I earned my BA in photography. After graduating, I moved back to Alaska. As much as I love photography and storytelling, I knew I wanted to do something where I could directly help people — and personal training gave me that opportunity.
That’s why I founded Halcyon Training.
It’s built on a simple idea: lift heavy things, get outside, and have fun doing it.
I want people to feel strong, capable, and confident — not just in the gym, but in their everyday lives.
